Inclusive Natural Disaster Risk Reduction in Climate Change context

Support to develop the action plan to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in Community based Disaster Risk Management (technical consultancy for the National Steering Committee of People with disabilities of Vietnam) following the action program signed between Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Ministry of Labour Invalids and Social Affairs.  

Develop 2 models of building community houses which can be used for evacuation shelter, ensuring the accessibility for all people in the community (recognized to be a suscessful model of the National Steering Committee of Disaster Risk Reduction in 2018). 

Support the National Center of Disaster Technology and Policy to manage their website ensuring the accessibility aspect. 

Facilitating the consulting workshop collecting the opinion of children for developing the Global Action Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (in collaboration with Plan International). Inclusion of the elderly, children and people with disabilities in Disaster Risk Reduction (through technical consultancy for Plan International, CBM organization).

• Integrating gender aspect in Disaster Risk Reduction (UN Women) Early warning guidance (FAO)
• Participatory digital mapping on disaster risks using QGIS (German Red Cross)
• Integrating disaster risk reduction in Social Economic Development Plan (American Red Cross)
• 3 Steering Committee of Disaster Risk Reduction of An Giang, Kiên Giang, Cà Mau  province (tGIZ)

→ Can develop 5 year and annual plan on Disaster Risk Reduction

• 50 Members of Technical Support group of Quy Nhon city
• 16 Members of Red Cross from Asia countries (American Red Cross)

→ Can drawn the digital risk map of natural disasters using QGIS

• 17 The members of relevant stakeholders of the project (CBM, Association of planning and agriculture design)

→ Have capacity on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, can develop CBDRA report

54 Deaf members from Danang Deaf Club and Danang Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affair, Danang DPO and Center of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control are raised awareness on Disability Inclusive DRR; recommendation for improving disability inclusion in DRR were put into action plan to call for support
